Let’s Go!

#5: Noah Dobson Receives Norris Votes

After an incredibly strong first half to the 22-23 season, Noah Dobson saw major struggles in all aspects of his game in the 2nd half. With another year of maturity, I think it’s not crazy to say Dobson will be in the Norris Trophy conversation next season.

#4: Oliver Wahlstrom Scores 25+ Goals

Prior to the ACL tear last season, Wahlstrom was on pace for a 17 goal campaign. This upcoming season will be a major year for Wahlstrom in terms of NHL status, and with the right minutes, Wahlstrom can crack 25 goals and start to reach that true potential.

#3: Ilya Sorokin Has Down Year

It is incredibly challenging for goaltenders to replicate astounding seasons in back-to-back years. This is where Sorokin comes in. After a hall-of-fame caliber season a year prior, Sorokin’s play dips, and the Russian net-minder struggles at times this season but still remains a solid #1 option in the blue paint.

#2: Mat Barzal Hits 90+ Points

Of all the takes on this list, this one would be most beneficial for the Islanders as a whole. Barzal, with a full season of Bo Horvat and good health, tallies his career high in points and shows the true superstar he can be at age 26.

#1: The Islanders Fall In The Eastern Conference Final For The 3rd Time In 5 Seasons

This one would hurt the most and could potentially send the fanbase into complete turmoil, but after another solid regular season, the Isles go on another deep playoff run again and fall short in the Eastern Conference Final due to a lack of scoring again. Let’s just hope it’s not against the Lightning.
