AHL: Game Recap: Hershey Bears vs. Lehigh Valley Phantoms 02/02/2024

Allentown, PA- The Hershey Bears and Lehigh Valley Phantoms meet up for the eighth time this season. The most recent match-up was on January 31st. The Bears beat the Phantoms with a score of 4-2. This game is also the last before Clay Stevenson, Dylan McIlrath, Ethen Frank, and head coach Todd Nelson head off to San Jose for the 2024 AHL All-Star Classic. The goalie match-up for the game is Clay Stevenson and Felix Sandstrom. Stevenson has a record of 16-5-1-6, a goal allowed-against average of 1.69, and a 0.938 save percentage. Sandstrom has a record of 7-6-2-0 with the phantoms, a goals-against average of 3.32, and a 0.88 save percentage. The Phantoms started early in the first period with Wade Allison scoring the goal at 8:44 in the period with Elliot Desnoyers and Brendan Furry assisting Allison’s goal. The Bears wouldn’t let their lead last for very long. Ethan Frank scores a power-play goal at 9:43 with Joe Snivley hitting 100 pro assists and Mike Sgarbossa assisting the goal!

The whole second period the Bears and Phantoms stayed tied up with the score being 1-1. In the third period, the Phantoms took the lead back with Jacob Gaucher scoring at 9:42 in the period with Bobby Brink and Victor Mete assisting. Not even a minute after the goal the Phantoms strike again pushing their lead up to 2, with Brendan Furry scoring at 10:13 with Elliot Desnoyers and Wade Allison assisting the goal. Samu Tuomaala scores a power play goal making the Phantoms lead go up to three. Cooper Marody and Emil Andrae assisted the goal. The Phantoms ended up beating the Hershey Bears for their 3rd regulation win against the Bears.
