Charlotte Checkers News & Notes:

The Checkers enter game one fresh off a bye. The last time Charlotte played was back on April 19th when they beat the Springfield Thunderbirds 5-0. Charlotte went 3-1-0-0 against Providence in the regular season, averaging 3.5 goals per game.

Providence Bruins News & Notes:

The Bruins advanced with a dominating 5-1 win over Springfield in their winner-takes-all game three on Sunday. Providence dropped game one 2-1 before winning game two in overtime 1-0 on Friday to force the decisive game three. Providence finished 1-2-2-0 against Charlotte in the regular season, averaging 2.8 goals per game.

John Leonard led the Checkers in points and goals in the regular season with 61 points and 36 goals. Trevor Carrick led Charlotte in assists with 37. Matt Kiersted was the team leader in plus/minus as he finished with a +34.

Providence Bruins

Riley Tufte either leads or is tied for the lead in every category for Providence. He leads in points with four in the playoffs. Tufte is also tied with Matthew Poitras for the team lead in goals with two. Tufte is also tied with Vinni Lettieri and Patrick Brown for the team lead in assists. Finally, he’s tied with Fraser Minten in plus/minus with a plus-two.
