AHL: Roster Transaction: Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins

On December 3rd, 2024, the Pittsburgh Penguins announced that they have re-assigned defenseman Jack St. Ivany to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and activated forward Cody Glass from injured reserve.

St. Ivany, 25 years old and a California native, is a right-handed defenseman, appeared in 19 games for the Penguins. He tallied one assist during those 19 games. St. Ivany was scratched in five of the last 12 games for Pittsburgh. St. Ivany is in his first year of a three year contract. He did not require waivers to be sent down to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

St. Ivany was drafted in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, 4th round, 112th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers. Prior to turning professional, St. Ivany spent two years at Yale University and two years at Boston University. While with Yale, he dressed in 62 games, tallying seven goals and 23 assists. When St. Ivany went to Boston, he played in 53 games and notched five goals with 25 assists. He appeared in the World Junior Championship for USA U20 in the 2018-2019 season but did not record any points. St. Ivany has the size and physicality for being a defenseman. He is a trustworthy player and can be an asset for the penalty kill special team.
