Bergeron’s 1000 Point Celebration

NBC Sports

As the Boston Bruins took on the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday afternoon, the TD Garden celebrated team Captain Patrice Bergeron hitting the 1000 point plateau. Bergeron, his wife, and three children were on the ice for the ceremony, where he was presented with multiple gifts. The presenters were Johnny Bucyk, Don Sweeney, Cam Neely, Brad Marchand, and David Krejci. For brevity, I will name the gifts. See the link below to watch the full ceremony.

1. A crystal award from the NHL to commemorate the accomplishment
2. A golden stick from the Boston Bruins
3. $37,000 check to the Patrice Pals Foundation
4. An engraved Rolex & Dom Perignon bottle from teammates

Another incredible moment in the day was Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker making an appearance to proclaim 12/17/22 to be Patrice Bergeron Day. A great honor for one of the best Boston Bruins to ever wear the uniform, a great person on and off the ice, and a name that will be synonymous with the Bruins culture for decades to come.
