The Atlanta Gladiators have traded Forward Gabe Guertler and future considerations to the Maine Mariners for Forward Mitchell Fossier. The Gladiators are getting a local player in Fossier, who’s hometown is Alpharetta, GA. Fossier played his collegiate career in Maine where he was Captain his senior year. Fossier scored 38 goals while adding 90 assists over his 134 game career. Fossier is a proven goal scorer, who amassed 21 goals in 47 games played last season with the Mariners. Fossier also had 36 helpers on the campaign while tallying 6 points in 6 games during the playoffs for Maine. This is an exciting trade for the Glads who look to add more offense to the team. Fossier is well traveled, having spent some time overseas playing in Slovakia for the 2021-22 campaign as well as getting some time in the AHL with both the Rockford Icehogs and the Providence Bruins.

The Gladiators lose fan favorite Guertler, who played two seasons in Duluth. Guertler amassed 35 goals and 44 assists across 137 games played. Maine will be getting a player considered undersized in hockey but he certainly does not play like it. Guertler was known to mix it up with some of the opposing teams more physically players.
