Breaking: Trent Frederic Traded to Edmonton Oilers in Three Team Trade

The trade deadline is on Friday but today a three-team trade has occurred between the Edmonton Oilers, New Jersey Devils, and Boston Bruins. The Oilers are acquiring forward Trent Frederic, forward Max Jones, and the right to forward Petr Hauser. The Bruins will receive defenseman Max Wanner, a 2025 second-round pick, and a 2026 fourth-round pick. The Devils are acquiring forward Shane LaChance from Edmonton and taking on 50% of Frederic’s contract.

Trent Frederic

Frederic is in his seventh season, all with the Bruins who drafted him 29th overall in the 2016 Draft. In 337 career games, he has 109 points on 55 goals and 54 assists. This season in 57 games he has 15 points on eight goals and seven assists. Frederic will be an unrestricted free agent following this season.

Max Jones

Jones will join his third team. He started his career with Anaheim who drafted him 24th overall in the 2016 Draft. In 265 career games, he has 62 points on 31 goals and 31 assists. This is his first season in Boston, in seven games he failed to record a point. He is under contract through 2025.

Petr Hauser

Hauser is currently playing in Czechia. This season in a total of 41 games he has 13 points on six goals and seven assists. He was drafted by New Jersey with the 141st pick in the 2022 Draft.

Max Wanner

Wanner is currently playing in Bakersfield of the AHL in 22 games he had two points on a goal and an assist. He’s a plus-one this season and has 28 penalty minutes. Last season in 68 games he had 17 points on seven goals and ten assists. The 21-year-old defenseman was drafted by Edmonton with the 212th pick in the 2021 Draft.

Shane LaChance

LaChance in 32 games this season at Boston University has 25 points on ten goals and 15 assists. Last season in 40 games he had 27 points on 13 goals and 14 assists. The Oilers selected the 21-year-old with the 186th pick in the 2021 Draft.
