It’s early in the PHF season, but forward Brittany Howard has been on a tear. The Toronto Six forward is leading the league in almost every scoring statistic. Thanks to her dominant play, the Six find themselves first in the league with a 7-1-2 record, just a few points in front of the defending champions, Boston Pride.
On the season, Howard has registered 12 goals and four assists for 16 points, including a plus-12 rating. Her 12 goals rank first in the PHF, as she has five more than Loren Gabel of the Boston Pride. She also ranks first in points, game-winning goals (3G), and power play goals (3G). She is currently second in the PHF for points per game, with 1.6 trailing Loren Gabel’s league-leading 1.9 PPGA.
It’s no surprise that Howard is lighting up the stat sheet, as she’s been a talented goal scorer where ever she’s suited up. During her four-year career at Robert Morris University, she tallied 79 goals and 181 points across 138 games. In her final two seasons at Robert Morris, Howard had the honor of wearing the “A” on her jersey.
Heading into the Holiday Break, Howard was riding a five-game point streak consisting of seven goals and ten points, including one hat trick. During that stretch, the Six went 4-0-1, showing how important Howard has been to their success.
The Six will resume play on January 7th, taking on the Montreal Force on the first night of a back-to-back matchup.
If Howard can keep up this level of play for the Six and help them keep winning, Toronto fans may get to see the talented forward hoist the Isobel Cup at the conclusion of the season.
