Nashville Predators Notes:

Predators won their home opener 3-0 over the Seattle Kraken on Thursday. Juuse Saros stopped 23 shots for the shutout. It was Andrew Brunette’s first win as head coach of Nashville. The Predators lost the season-opening game to Tampa Bay 5-3. Juuso Parssinen has two goals on the season for Nashville. The 2019 seventh-round draft pick had just six goals in 45 games last season.

Boston Bruins Notes:

The Bruins won their season opener Wednesday night 3-1 over the Chicago Blackhawks. Linus Ullmark got the win in the net with 20 saves. Jeremy Swayman will be in the goal for the Bruins on Saturday night. David Pastrnak, who scored 61 goals last season, scored twice in the win, including potting the game-winning goal. Matthew Poitras and Johnny Beecher each made their NHL debuts, with Poitras collecting an assist.

Players To Watch:

Nashville- Filip Forsberg is two years removed from an 84-point season and is a dynamic forward with the Predators. The 29-year-old has two assists in the two games this season. Ryan O’Reilly joined Nashville this offseason from Toronto and provides leadership and a veteran presence in the lineup.

Boston – Brad Marchand totaled 67 points last season after having surgery on both hips. The 35-year-old winger had an assist in the opener and is now captain of the Bruins. Marchand will be called upon to provide much of the offense for Boston this season. Jake DeBrusk had 27 goals last season and has entered the last year of his contract. Marchand’s linemate had two shots on net in the win over Chicago.
