Boston Bruins Notes:

The Bruins are 2-0 after two home wins over Chicago and Nashville. Boston has yet to give up a power-play goal in ten chances. David Pastrnak leads the team with three goals. Head Coach Jim Montgomery is still looking for more 5-on-5 goals and has changed the lines for this four-game road trip. The Bruins were 31-8-2 on the road last season.

San Jose Sharks Notes:

The Sharks are still in rebuilding mode and have started the season with a difficult schedule, losing to Vegas, Colorado, and Carolina. Several players, including Tomas Hertl and Logan Couture, have been rumored in trade talks with other teams. The team was going to place Kevin Labanc through waivers in the last year of an $18.9 million contract but now have announced that he will make his season debut. The forward has been scratched in all three games.

Boston Bruins Lineup:

DeBrusk – Zacha – Pastrnak

Marchand – Poitras – Geekie

van Riemsdyk – Coyle – Frederic

Lucic – Beecher – Lauko

Grzelcyk – McAvoy

Lindholm – Carlo

San Jose Sharks Lineup:

Duclair – Hertl – Zadina

Eklund – Bordeleau – Hoffman

Barabanov – Peterson – Labanc

Zetterlund – Sturm – Smith

Benning – Thrun

Players To Watch:

San Jose – Hertl has collected three assists and six shots on goal in the three games and played the highest average ice time at 20:26. The defensive pairing of Kyle Burroughs and Mario Ferraro has struggled, with each having a minus-4. Giovani Smith leads the team with seven shots on net.

Boston – With the new line combinations, Head Coach Jim Montgomery will be looking for a spark from Jake DeBrusk, who is back to his natural left wing. Matt Poitras should receive more ice time with Brad Marchand on his wing. The Bruins penalty kill is a perfect 10 for 10, with defenseman Brandon Carlo being one of the main factors.
