Christian Fischer on Waivers, Carter Mazur Called-up From Grand Rapids

Christian Fischer on Waivers, Carter Mazur Recalled From Grand Rapids

The Detroit Red Wings dropped their third straight last night in a 2-1 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes. It’s been a rough stretch for Detroit as they dropped out of a playoff spot but remain tied with the New York Rangers. Today they placed Christian Fischer on waivers. Fischer has been the odd man out for Detroit this season. If he clears he will likely head to Grand Rapids. Reports also surfaced that Red Wings top prospect Carter Mazur is on his way to Detroit to make his debut from Grand Rapids. Mazur is red hot currently on a six-game point streak in which he has seven points on four goals and three assists.
