The Detroit Red Wings will return to the ice tonight against the Dallas Stars after going 2-1-0 last week with big wins over playoff teams in the Florida Panthers and the Tampa Bay Lighting, with the loss coming against the Carolina Hurricanes. The Red Wings AHL affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins, last week went 2-0-0 as they swept the Manitoba Moose, who are the affiliate of the Winnipeg Jets, in a weekend series; they won Friday night game in overtime 5-4 and Saturday, they won 4-3. Macro Kasper led the offense, with five points over the two games, coming on three goals and two assists. He scored a goal and an assist on Friday night and had two goals and an assist on Saturday night to lead the Griffins offense. Grand Rapids is now in third place in the Central Division, and they are currently 12 points back of first place.

Marco Kasper By The Numbers 

The Red Wings drafted Kasper with the eighth overall pick in the 2022 draft. Last season, he debuted in Detroit, playing in just one game before he suffered a season-ending knee injury. This season with Grand Rapids, he has played in 36 games and has recorded 19 points on six goals and 13 assists.

Week Ahead:

The Red Wings will play the Stars tonight, then the Flyers on Thursday before wrapping up the week on Saturday against the Golden Knights. The Griffins will return Wednesday against the Rockford Ice Hogs, who are the affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks, then a weekend series against the Ottawa Senators affiliate, the Belleville Senators, on Friday and Saturday.
