Detroit Red Wings Roster Moves 12/14

The Detroit Red Wings will take on the Carolina Hurricanes tonight, and they made some roster moves this morning. The Red Wings announced that Dylan Larkin and J.T. Compher would be out tonight despite skating at practice this morning, and Klim Kostin is expected back Saturday. This morning, they sent Jonatan Berggren and Austin Czarnik back down to Grand Rapids because they are on an emergency loan, but they will both be back in the lineup for tonight’s game. Compher is also expected back on Saturday.

Roster Moves By The Numbers

J.T. Compher

Compher, this offseason, signed a five-year contract to join Detroit and be a part of their core for the future, and in his first season, he has shown to be a great addition. In 24 games, he has 19 points on six goals and 13 assists. He has slid into the role of the second center behind Dylan Larkin, and when he returns, if Larkin is still out, he will be in the first center spot. On the power play, he has four points on two goals and two assists. He is a plus-seven and posts a 46.7 faceoff percentage.

Jonatan Berggren

Berggren just wrapped up his third stint with the Red Wings and has been linked to trade conversations, but this most recent trip up was his best one by far. In two games on this most recent call-up, he scored two points, both coming on goals and was a plus-two.

Austin Czarnik

Czarnik has played 13 games for the Red Wings this season, but in his most recent stint, he only played two games and did not record a point as he was the fourth center; however, he was a plus-one and averaged just north of nine minutes a game. This season with the Red Wings, he only has one point and has been a minus two.
