Doug Gilmour’s Son Gets a PTO with Adirondack

The Adirondack Thunder are only bringing one player to camp on a PTO in Tyson Gilmour. The 26-year-old forward joins the Thunder after putting up three assists in six games at the SPHL at the end of last season. Gilmour spent his collegiate career with SUNY-Geneso, where he scored 31 goals and added 62 assists for 93 points in 103 games, including winning two SUNYAC Championships.

“For me, I’d say it’s like having any other dad supporting you, telling you something after games whether it’s keep the puck or try and make the right play small things like that kinda go a long way”

-Gilmour on how his dad has influenced his development

Gilmour is the son of Hall of Fame forward Doug Gilmour, who spent 20 seasons in the NHL putting up 450 goals and 964 assists for 1,414 points in 1,474 games as he spent time with the St.Louis Blues, Calgary Flames, Toronto Maple Leafs, New Jersey Devils, Chicago Blackhawks, Buffalo Sabres, and Montreal Canadiens.
