ECHL: Adirondack Thunder Transactions | 01/23/2025

Adirondack Thunder Transactions Graphic

The Adirondack Thunder made a flurry of transactions on Thursday Night prior to their two games this weekend vs Norfolk Admirals. Adirondack has now added a goaltender to IR as James Marooney heads to reserve prior to this weekend’s series. I wouldn’t be shocked if we see Benjamin Lindberg find his way into the lineup for this weekend’s series.

Goaltending Starting To Get Slim

Adirondack, who started the season with three goaltenders on their roster, are down to Tyler Brennan as Jeremy Brodeur was called up to the Utica Comets, and David Fessenden was placed on the 14-day IR, leaving Adirondack with only one of the three goalies they began the season with. However, the Thunder are expected to announce the signing of Colby Muise tomorrow. Muise, 26, has had an impressive start to the season, putting up a 17-3-3 record with a 1.81 GAA, .927SV%, and five shutouts. I would expect Muise to be with the Thunder for a bit, seeing that Adirondack will begin a season-long seven-game road trip next Friday, making stops in Worcester, Reading, Tahoe, and Trois-Rivieres. The 26-year-old goaltender may not get a start this weekend, but I expect him to get a start next weekend with the Thunder having a three-in-three with travel.

Josh Filmon Back From Utica

The Thunder will get Josh Filmon back after he was called up to Utica earlier this week and played in Monday’s game vs Syracuse Crunch. Filmon has been a huge part of the Thunder as of late, as Kevin O’Neil and Filmon have been a deadly duo for the Thunder. In 27 games this season with Adirondack, he’s put up eight goals and six assists for 14 points. This is a massive addition to the Thunder who need as many healthy bodies as they can find right now.
