The Adirondack Thunder made two big notable moves on Monday before they play the Worcester Railers on New Year’s Eve.
Jeremy Brodeur Called Up To Utica
The Utica Comets announced that they’ve called up goaltender Jeremy Brodeur, who will likely serve as the backup to Isaac Poulter on New Year’s Eve when the Comets hit the road for a game against the Belleville Senators. Brodeur had been called up to Utica earlier this month but didn’t see any game action while up there. David Fessenden will come off reserve and could get the start on Tuesday vs Worcester, seeing that Tyler Brennan got two of the three starts this past weekend. Fessenden is 2-1 with a 2.04 GAA and .926SV% in four appearances this year with the Thunder.
Kevin O’Neil Activated Off IR
Kevin O’Neil will be back in the Thunder lineup after missing the last four games with an upper-body injury. The 26-year-old forward has had a strong year for the Adirondack as he’s put up five goals and 14 assists for 19 points and currently leads the team in points and assists. O’Neil will likely continue to play big minutes for the Thunder on the top line as the team looks for their first three-game win streak since they won their first three games.
Sam Ruffin will head to reserve to make room on the active roster for O’Neil. Ruffin has played in seven games and has put up one assist since being acquired from the Indy Fuel on December 5th.
