ECHL Breaking News: Newfoundland Growlers vs. Idaho Steelheads Game Postponed | 03/08/2024

Newfoundland Growlers/ECHL

Tonight’s Newfoundland Growlers vs. Idaho Steelheads game has been postponed to Monday, March 11th, at 5:30 EST due to weather-related issues in Newfoundland. This move is a little shocking, seeing that both the Growlers and Steelheads are in Newfoundland; however, the city is currently under a Winter Storm, and they are expected to receive over a foot of heavy snow in the next 24 hours. This is not the first time this season that a game has been postponed as the Florida Everblades vs Orlando Solar Bears game was postponed on December 17th due to unsafe ice conditions after a power outage in Orlando, and less than a week later, the Florida Everblades vs South Carolina Stingrays game was suspended with 7:11 left in the first period due to unsafe ice conditions. An announcement for the league and teams should be coming later today regarding today’s postponement

This is the first postponement for the Growlers since last year when the fourth game of their opening-round series of the Kelly Cup Playoffs vs. Adirondack Thunder was postponed due to travel issues for both teams.
