Cam Johnson of the Florida Everblades has been named the Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Month for November.

Cam Johnson’s Stellar Month in ECHL

Cam Johnson of the Florida Everblades had an impressive month, going 7-1-0 with three shutouts, a 1.37 goals-against average, and a .944 save percentage in eight games. The 30-year-old allowed two goals or less in six of those games and made 24 or more saves four times. His three shutouts came in a span of four games, with standout performances on Nov. 11 (17 saves at Orlando), Nov. 16 (23 saves at Greenville), and Nov. 23 (23 saves against Kalamazoo). Additionally, Cam Johnson was recognized as Goaltender of the Week for the period of November 11th to 17th.

Shutouts: Three shutouts on Nov 11 (17 saves), Nov 16 (23 saves), and Nov 23 (23 saves).

High Save Percentages: Johnson had a save percentage over 90% in each of his November appearances.

  • Nov 11: 100% (17 saves on 17 shots)
  • Nov 16: 100% (23 saves on 23 shots)
  • Nov 20: 92.3% (24 saves on 26 shots)

Johnson’s average save percentage for the month of November is approximately 95.99%. This impressive average highlights his exceptional performance throughout the month.

Low Goals Against: Allowed two goals or fewer in five of his seven November appearances.

Currently contracted with the Springfield Thunderbirds of the AHL, Johnson is leading the ECHL with 10 wins and three shutouts. He holds the second position for goals-against average (1.53) and ranks fifth in both minutes played (668) and save percentage (.936).

Career Highlights

College: At the University of North Dakota, he played 102 games, achieving a 56-26-12 record with 12 shutouts, a 2.10 goals-against average, and a .914 save percentage.

ECHL: Johnson, from Troy, Michigan, has played 168 career ECHL games with Florida and Adirondack, boasting a record of 96-50-17 with 15 shutouts, a 2.37 goals-against average, and a .917 save percentage. He won the June M. Kelly Playoffs MVP Award after leading the Everblades to Kelly Cup championships in 2022 and 2023.

AHL: In 53 AHL games with Charlotte, Cleveland, and Binghamton, Johnson has an 18-25-8 record with one shutout.
