The Adirondack Thunder and Reading Royals faced off once again on Friday evening for the fourth of six meetings between the clubs during the month of January. Adirondack would have a couple of chances early, but Nolan Maier would stand tall as it would be Reading who would open up the scoring first as Ryan Cox fed Yvan Mongo in the circle for his 11th of the season. Colin Felix would get the Thunder as he would launch a one-timer past the glove of Maier to start his four-point night as Felix now has two goals and five assists in six games against his former team, “Ya, I don’t know what to say, extra motivation, and hopefully I can do the same thing next weekend against Reading” laughed Felix. Adirondack would outshoot the Royals 16-10 in the opening 20.

In the second, the Thunder would waste no time getting on the board as Brennan Less would pick up his first career goal coming in as the trailer on a three-on-two, “It Feels good, and it’s good to get the first one out of the way” said Less. It would stay a close game as Reading got on the board just 2:18 later as Jake Bricknell would put home a rebound from Shane Sellar and make it a one-goal game. Adirondack would get two goals in the course of 3:21 is Colin Felix would set up Tristan Ashbrook for a one-timer, and Travis Broughman would score a beautiful goal to cap off a three-goal second period for the Thunder, “We gotta call a little roller hockey shake and bake sometimes” said Broughman. Adirondack would outshoot Reading 16-5 in the third, and Ryan Smith would add an empty-net goal as the Thunder would snap their four-game losing skid, “Wasn’t worried about the losing streak at all and we’re always happy with the effort, and it’s nice to see some pucks go in the net with some familiar faces behind it” said Head Coach Pete MacArthur. Adirondack once again sits atop of the North Division
