ECHL Game Recap: Atlanta Gladiators vs Florida Everblades | 04/12/2025

The Florida Everblades closed out their three-game weekend series with a commanding 6–1 victory over the Atlanta Gladiators on Saturday night at Hertz Arena. Olivier Chau netted two goals and added an assist, while Kyle Neuber recorded his first of the season along with an assist in a breakout performance. Cam Johnson turned aside 21 shots for his third win of the week. Atlanta’s lone goal came late in the first period from Jackson Pierson, but the Gladiators were outscored 16–5 across the series and struggled to generate chances against Florida’s relentless pressure and depth scoring.


First Period

Florida opened the scoring at 12:44 when Jesse Lansdell finished off a crisp passing play from Seth Allen and Colin Theisen, finding a soft spot in coverage and snapping the puck past Drew DeRidder.

The Everblades extended their lead five minutes later. Cole Moberg moved the puck to Kyle Neuber, who set up Andrew Fyten who found a slot to bury his fifth of the season.

Atlanta responded quickly before the intermission. Jackson Pierson got the Gladiators on the board with a backdoor tap-in after Brenden Datema got physical on the forecheck to disrupt the Everblades’ zone. Eric Neiley and Andrew Jarvis also contributed to the play, and Pierson buried his 11th of the year.

Florida immediately answered back. Colin Theisen scored with 10 seconds left in the period, one-timing a pass from Alex Kile and Jesse Lansdell to reclaim the momentum heading into the break.

Second Period

Florida continued to push the pace in the second period and widened the gap at 12:11. Olivier Chau scored his 22nd of the season after taking a pass from Logan Lambdin, with Kyle Betts also assisting.

Atlanta’s power play continued to struggle, going 0-for-2 in the frame as Florida’s penalty kill remained sharp. The Everblades carried a 4–1 lead into the third.

Third Period

Florida added two more goals to cap off a dominant night. On the power play, Neuber scored his first of the season at 6:47, parking himself at the top of the crease and finishing a net-front pass from Chau, with Colton Hargrove also assisting.

Just three minutes later, Chau struck again—this time shorthanded—when he finished off a rush led by Kyle Betts for his 23rd of the season.

Florida closed out the game with continued zone pressure and puck control, cruising to a 6–1 win and a clean sweep of the weekend set.

Game Summary

The Florida Everblades wrapped up a dominant three-game sweep of the Atlanta Gladiators with a 6–1 win on Saturday. Olivier Chau had a two-goal, one-assist night, while Kyle Neuber and Jesse Lansdell each added a goal and assist. Cam Johnson made 21 saves, and Florida went 1-for-4 on the power play while adding a shorthanded goal. Atlanta’s only tally came from Jackson Pierson late in the first, but the Gladiators struggled to recover after allowing three goals in the opening frame and were outshot 33–22 overall.
