Greenville, S.C. — The Greenville Swamp Rabbits have made significant announcements in the past month regarding their 2024 roster. Today, August 13, the club announced that they have named Adam Dauda as their assistant coach. The news comes after the club named Kyle Mountain as their head coach on June 22, after he spent last season as an assistant coach under Andrew Lord. Lord vacated the head coaching position this offseason after spending the last four seasons as Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, as his coaching and leadership played a pivotal role in bringing the Rabbits to new heights in franchise history.

About Adam Dauda

Dauda, 29, is somewhat of a young coach in the hockey industry. He spent last season (2023-24) as head coach of the University of North Carolina men’s team. UNC was 18-7-1 last season in the ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association), being seventh in the southeast division. In the previous two seasons (2021-23), Dauda was assistant coach for Manhattanville College (NCAA D3). For the 2021-22 season, the college was 10-13-3 overall; and for 2022-23, they were 14-11-2.

Before going into coaching, Dauda played professionally at different levels of hockey. The Bratislava, Slovakian native’s most recent season was 2021-22 with the Danbury Hat Tricks of the FPHL, where he played ten games (10G-7A=12). The season before that was with the Jacksonville Icemen (4 GP: 0 Pts), and then he went overseas afterward to finish out the season in his home country of Slovakia for HK Nitra (25GP: 7G-7A=14Pts). For the 2019-20 season, Dauda played more games in the “Coast” as he first started out for Kalamazoo (24GP: 5G-3A=8Pts), before getting traded to Jacksonville to finish the season by playing 29 games (9G-13A=22Pts). He first turned professional during the 2018-19 season for the Newfoundland Growlers after completing his fourth season with Colgate University (NCAA). For the now former ECHL team, Dauda played only five games with Newfoundland, recording no points. To finish off that season, he played 14 games in Australia for the Sydney Bears (16G-13A=29Pts) of the AIHL.

In total, Dauda participated in three seasons within the ECHL, making appearances in 62 games — he achieved 14 goals and 16 assists, resulting in a total of 30 points.

The Greenville Swamp Rabbits will commence the 2024-25 season at home turf as they will take on the Orlando Solar Bears on October 18.
