Coralville, Iowa- Following an exciting 3-2 Overtime win for the Iowa Heartlanders, Head Coach and General Manager Derek Damon was not done improving his roster after a week full of moves.

Jack Perbix, Brother of Tampa Bay Lightning Defender Nick Perbix, is an all-around player who is signing from Northern Michigan University. Jack wore the #12 uniform in college and will likely continue wearing it in the Heartland. Jack is also now the fourth Heartlander this season who played for the 2020-21 Minnesota Golden Gophers, alongside Jonny Sorenson, Ben Brinkman, and Robbie Stucker.

Here is one of Perbix’s highlights from that 2020-21 Season:

With Iowa’s recent player shortage, Perbix’s versatility will be an incredible asset for keeping the team balanced and organized, especially if injuries or long penalties render players unavailable. If Jack is anything like his brother, he will frequently be available and play as hard as he can every game with lots of assists and few penalty minutes.

In corresponding moves, Peyton Jones was signed to a PTO by the AHL’s Iowa Wild, and Forward Ty Enns was released.
