Players on PTO/TO

Tyler Roy G (Try-Out)—The 26-year-old goaltender split last season between the FPHL and SPHL, playing in 17 games. In seven games with the Columbus River Dragons, he went 6-0 with a 1.96 GAA and .936SV%. The Brighton, Michigan native then played ten games in the SPHL with the Roanoke Rail Yard Dogs, where he went 5-3-2 with a 2.93 GAA, .904SV%, and one shutout. Roy also spent four years at the NCAA level, playing two years at Mannahantahanville College and Neumann University, where he went 11-16-2 with a 3.64 GAA, .894SV%, and one shutout. He will likely fill in for Matt Vernon, who is currently attending AHL camp with the Rochester Americans.

Cooper Jones D (PTO)- The 26-year-old defenseman joins the Icemen’s camp after playing in 30 games in the ECHL with the Idaho Steelheads and Rapid City Rush, where he put up three assists and has seen 70 games at the ECHL level over the course of his five-year career including one game with the Icemen during the 2021-22 season. Jones also saw time at the SPHL level last season, playing in 21 games with the Pensacola Ice Flyers, where he put two goals and seven assists for nine points.

Nick Fea F (PTO)—The 27-year-old forward is entering his third season in the ECHL. He’s scored eight goals and added nine assists for 17 points in 48 career games while playing for the Worcester Railers, Wichita Thunder, and Reading Royals. Fea has yet to find his way into a full-time ECHL gig but has put up solid numbers at the SPHL level over the course of the past two seasons, as he’s put up 12 goals and 20 assists for 32 points in 29 games with the Birmingham Bulls. The Oak Ridge, NJ native could prove to be a solid fourth-line piece for the Icemen if he can win a spot during training camp.

Devin Sanders F (Try-Out)- The 22-year-old forward is fresh out of college after spending the past two years at the ACHA level with Niagara University, where he put up 36 goals and 41 assists for 77 points in 58 games. Sanders showed that he can score at the ACHA level and will look to make a good impression during training camp to hopefully earn himself a spot on an ECHL roster. Regardless of the outcome, this is a good opportunity for the Niagara Falls, Ontario, native to make his name known.

Jonathan Hampton F (Try-Out)- The 26-year-old forward returns to North America after spending last season overseas in Sweden. He would play with Helsingborgs HC in Division 2, where he put up eight goals and seven assists for 15 points in 20 games. Prior to going overseas, he played three years at St. Mary’s University, where he put up ten goals and 17 assists for 27 points in 77 games.
