The Jacksonville Icemen face off with the Florida Everblades for game seven of the first round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs. The Icemen and fans are looking to recover from game 6, where Florida won 4-1.

The first period started slower for both teams. The Icemen put up 6 shots on goal, while Florida put up 9. Both Matt Vernon and Cam Johnson were shields to start the first period. Ultimately ending the period at 0-0.

The second period looked like a rewind of Tuesday’s night matchup. Florida took full advantage. Will Riley would be the first Everblade to put the puck into the net. He pushed the puck in between his legs and hit the one-timer past Vernon. Sean Josling would join the fun two minutes later, as he would put the wrist shot into the goal. Four minutes after the first goal by Florida, the Everblades would get number three. Cam Darcy would score on a wrist shot. The Everblades would go up on the Icemen 3-0 within the first seven minutes of the second period. Cole Merberg would add to the mix, as he would get a short-handed goal at the 18:48 mark. The period would end, Florida up 4 – 0

The Icemen would continue to push through the third period to catch up. Both teams would play strong defense, holding each other off to only seven shots on goal each. But, the final buzzard would go, and the period would be over. With the last buzzard of the third period, the Florida Everblades had won the series. The Everblades season will now continue as they face Orlando for round two of the Kelly Cup Playoffs. Many Icemen were saddened to see the Icemen season end. But they played a hard-fought season.
