The ECHL has named Adirondack Thunder goaltender Jeremy Brodeur as October’s Goaltender of the Month. Brodeur would win each of the two starts he saw in the season’s opening month, including a 27-save shutout in Adirondack’s home opener vs Trois-Rivieres Lions. The 28-year-old goaltender holds a 2-0 record while allowing less than a goal a game and holding a .981SV%. He is second in the league in GAA and SV% behind Iowa’s Dylan Ferguson who stopped all 31 shots he saw in his only start this season vs Bloomington Bison. The Essex Falls, NJ native is in his seventh year in the ECHL and second with the Thunder as he’s put up a 52-48-13 record with a 3.09 GAA, .910SV%, and three shutouts while also spending time with the Allen Americans, Norfolk Admirals, Maine Mariners, and South Carolina Stingrays.
Adirondack once again is being led by solid goaltending as Brodeur, along with Tyler Brennan, have both been fantastic so far this season as the Thunder are tied with the Kalamazoo Wings for allowing the fewest goals (6) this season and are second in team GAA as Brodeur and Brennan have combined for a 1.50 GAA through the first four games. One of the biggest factors that have led to Adirondack’s success is they have had a very light schedule to start the season as they’ve played four games in the first three weeks of the season, but that won’t last for long as Adirondack has 12 more games this month including seven games in 10 days to end the month of November.
