ECHL: Jordan-Ty Fournier Signs In LNAH With Thetford Mines

Allen Americans winger Jordan-TY Fournier has signed with the Thetford Mines Assurancia of the LNAH after spending just one season in the ECHL with the Americans. Jordan Ty’s brother Stefan Fournier played eight games with Thetford last season, putting up eight goals in eight games, and would add nine goals and two assists for 11 points in three games with the Beaupre Montagnards. Stefan also spent parts of ten seasons in the ECHL, putting up 102 goals and 85 assists for 187 points in 288 games with the Wheeling Nailers, Brampton Beast, Kalamazoo Wings, Orlando Solar Bears, Wichita Thunder, Trois-Rivieres Lions, and Allen Americans. Stefan also spent four seasons as a player-coach with the Thunder. Dillon Fournier, the middle brother of the three, has spent the last three seasons with the Quad City Storm. Dillon spent parts of three seasons with the Indy Fuel, where he put up two goals and eight assists for 10 points in 45 games. He is also the only brother who has been drafted, as he was selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the second round of the 2012 NHL Draft.

In 49 games last season, he would put up eight goals and nine assists for 17 points and would play in two games for the Americans during the Kelly Cup Playoffs. Prior to going pro, Fournier spent four years in the QMJHL where he put up 54 goals and 69 assists for 123 points in 250 games while spending time with the Victoriaville Tigers and Cape Breton Screaming Eagles. The Quebec native would then play four seasons at McGill University, where he put up 19 goals and 15 assists for 34 points in 77 games before signing with the Americans last August. Fournier becomes the second player who played in the ECHL last season to sign with Thetford after Nicolas Lariviere signed with the team after spending last season with the Lions.
