ECHL: K-Wings Pen Two More

James McEwan has signed with the K-Wings for 2023-24 season and Stephen Alvo was given a PTO. McEwan, hailing from Chatham, ON, suited up for the K-Wings last season for three games before an injury ended his season. He spent most of last season with the Florida Everblades, where he played 28 games for the club before being traded to Kalamazoo. During his time there, he scored five goals four assists for nine points, along with eight penalty minutes and a plus two rating. He also played one game for the Orlando Solar Bears before being acquired by the Everblades. Standing at 5 feet 11 inches and weighing in at 194 pounds, he is a versatile center who has no problem playing wing as well.

Stephen Alvo, 27, is a 5 foot 11 inch 185-pound blue liner who hails from Toronto, ON. He spent the last two seasons skating for the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs and the Birmingham Bulls of the SPHL. For the Bulls, he played in 44 games where he scored two goals, 13 assists, and 33 penalty minutes with a plus one rating. While playing for the Dawgs, he skated in 47 games, scored six goals and 16 assists, along with 24 penalty minutes, and had a plus-ten rating. He also played eight games in the playoffs for the Dawgs, scoring one goal and eight assists, with 19 penalty minutes and a plus seven rating. He brings a championship mindset, winning the President’s Cup last season in the SPHL.
