ECHL: Kansas City Mavericks Sign 3 Returning Players

Kansas City Mavericks

With the season just a few months away, teams are starting to fill up their roster spots. The Kansas City Mavericks started with three signings. Two signings in June and one just today announced on July 5th. Let’s talk about the two the Mavericks signed/brought back for this upcoming season.

The first signing so far by the Mavericks is Right Winger Cole Coskey. Who is returning to the Mavericks again after playing with them last year. Coskey scored 36 points in the 56 games he appeared in for the Mavs, with 20 goals and 16 assists. He did get called up to AHL on loan to the Milwaukee Admirals. He appeared in three games for them. Kansas City Mavericks head coach Tad O’Had said a few words about bringing Coskey back. O’had said, “He is an electric player that has contributed throughout the lineup and has made an impact on special teams and is an elite level goal scorer in the ECHL’. He also stated that ” Coskey defensive side of the game doesn’t get enough positive attention. He battles, competes at a high energy level every night, and is a leader in the locker room”.

The Second Signing is the Mavericks Left Winger / Center, Jake Jaremko. Jaremko is also returning to the Mavericks after last year with them. Jake, who joined the Mavericks, started off hot last year, then got injured and was out for quite a while. But when Jake returned, he was still hot as he started helping the Mavericks make the playoffs last season. Jaremko only appeared in only 20 games, putting up five goals and 12 assists, totaling 17 points. Coach O’had also had a few words to say about the return on Jaremko. “J.J. battled through a lot of adversity last year and made it back for the playoffs for the Mavericks. He brings an exceptional amount of skill and talent to our lineup” Coach also stated that ” He contributes to the power play, penalty kill, and Five on five. His puck possession skills and his ability to attack below the goal line make him a force to be reckoned with in the Echl. We are bringing back an incredible leader, person, and player in Jake. We are so happy to have him returning to Kansas City.”

The Third signing so far by Kansas City is Foward Casey Carreau. Casey joined the team late in the season before the playoffs last year. With only appearing in 12 games for the Mavericks, he put up two goals and six assists. Coach hasn’t come out yet to talk about Casey yet. But from My point of view, Casey is good to bring back to a rebuilding team. Carreau is all around wonderful player; he plays blueline to blueline hockey. I can’t wait to see what Casey does this coming season.
