ECHL: Logan Nijhoff Named Player of the Week (March 17-23)

The ECHL has named Trois-Rivieres Lions forward Logan Nijhoff as the ECHL Player of the Week for March 17-23. In three games last week, the Comox, British Columbia native had six goals and two assists for eight points, including two hat tricks on Friday vs Adirondack Thunder and Sunday vs Worcester Railers. He has 23 goals and 22 assists for 45 points in 52 games this season with Trois-Rivieres, and he’s also played in four games with Laval. Nijhoff is tied for the team lead in goals with Anthony Beauregard and is fourth on the team in points.

Nijhoff, 23, is in his second season in the ECHL after spending the 2022-23 season with the Tulsa Oilers and Indy Fuel, where he put up eight goals and eight assists for 16 points in 43 games. Nijhoff has also played in 58 games at the AHL level, where he’s put up four goals and an assist while spending time with the San Diego Gulls, Rockford IceHogs, and Laval Rocket.

Prior to going pro, the 6’0,187lb winger spent five seasons with the Regina Pats of the WHL, where he put up 61 goals and 62 assists for 123 points in 231 games. He would wear a letter with the Pats for three years, including being named the captain for his final two seasons with Regina. In his final season with the Pats, he put up 25 goals and 24 assists for 49 points and finished second in goals behind Tanner Howe and Connor Bedard.
