ECHL: Maine Mariners Re-Sign Garrett Devine

The Maine Mariners have announced that they have re-signed forward Garrett Devine for the 2024-25 season. Devine joined the Mariners at the end of last season, playing in six games while putting up one assist, and was left off the Mariners Kelly Cup Playoff Roster. Heading into next season, I would expect Devine to be a middle-six forward for the Mariners and be a guy who could put up 10-15 goals next season. The 26-year-old forward becomes the 21st player and 13th forward signed by Maine this off-season.

“I think there’s a lot of different ways I feel like I can help the team and can grow as a player,” said Devine. “Trying to be a Swiss army knife and fill in wherever the team needs me. I’m just excited to take some confident steps forward and positively contribute to the team. I can’t wait to be a Mariner.”

Prior to joining the Mariners, the Windsor, Colorado native spent a year in the NCDC with the South Shore Kings, where he put up 12 goals and 16 assists for 28 points in 46 games. Devine would then take a year off before making the jump to the NCAA, where he spent three years at Providence College, scoring one goal in 17 games. He then spent his final two years of eligibility at the University of New England, scoring 19 goals and adding 14 assists for 33 points in 57 games. During his time at UNE, he played alongside Alex Sheehy, who has also re-signed with the Mariners for next season.
