The ECHL has announced multiple suspensions stemming from a giant scrum that almost led to a goalie fight at the end of Sunday’s game between the Norfolk Admirals and Toledo Walleye. It was a late hit by Stephan Timofeyev as time was expiring that Trent Bliss took exception to, and all chaos ensued, including Norfolk Goalie Kristian Snead coming off the bench to attempt to fight John Lethemon, who started going after Timofeyev as well as Toledo won that game in a blowout by a score of 9-1 in favor of the Walleye.

The game finished with a total of 104 penalty minutes and two players and a head coach would end up with suspensions. Norfolk Admirals Goaltender Kristian Stead gets five games for leaving the bench as he attempted to go after John Lethemon at the end of the game. Stead is 2-2-0-1 with a 2.79 GAA, .901 SV%, and one shutout in seven games this year as he’s played with the Tulsa Oilers and the Admirals. Norfolk Admirals Head Coach Jeff Carr was suspended one game, and Norfolk’s Keegan Iverson got fined by the league. Iverson has six goals and five assists for 11 points in 33 games, along with 94 penalty minutes; he had 134 penalty minutes in 67 games last year with the Rapid City Rush.

Yaniv Perets will likely get a bulk load of the starts for Norfolk over the next five games. Perets is 8-10-1 with a 3.27 GAA, .881SV%, and one shutout in 21 games.
