As the ECHL’s future considerations deadline passed, the Orlando Solar Bears closed the book on several trades made during the 2024–25 season. The result: four players join the roster, four move on, and the Bears’ offseason blueprint continues to take shape.
Incoming: Drevitch, Britt, Burnie, and Thomas Join the Bears
Forward Tyler Drevitch arrives from the Atlanta Gladiators to complete the October 30, 2024 deal that sent Randy Hernández from Orlando to Atlanta. Drevitch appeared in 25 games for the Gladiators this past season, registering three goals, two assists, and 35 penalty minutes. He brings grit, edge, and over 250 games of ECHL experience to the Orlando lineup.
Defenseman Logan Britt was acquired from the Reading Royals to complete a November 3 trade involving Robbie Stucker. Britt played in 49 games for Reading during the 2024–25 season, contributing 12 points and earning a +8 rating. His steady two-way play and NCAA pedigree make him a solid addition to the blue line.

From the Allen Americans, the Bears add forward Tyler Burnie in exchange for Ryan Mahshie, finalizing a deal from November 17. Burnie recorded 19 points in 65 games during his rookie campaign and adds size and physicality up front.
Finally, Cory Thomas was acquired from the Trois-Rivières Lions to complete a March 20, 2025 trade involving Andrew Coxhead. He logged one goal, four assists, and 43 penalty minutes in 47 games before being flipped to Cincinnati.

Departures: Thomas, O’Reilly, Devlin, Frye
As part of the busy deadline day, the Solar Bears sent Cory Thomas to the Cincinnati Cyclones, completing an October 17 trade between Cincinnati and Idaho involving Brian Chambers.
Ryan O’Reilly and Liam Devlin were both moved to finalize the multi-team trade for Jack Adams (originally from the Bloomington Bison). O’Reilly heads to the Norfolk Admirals, while Devlin joins the Reading Royals.
Lastly, Alex Frye was sent to Cincinnati to complete the March 3, 2025 deal that brought goaltender Jon Gillies to Orlando.
What It All Means
With all future considerations now accounted for, the Orlando Solar Bears have successfully wrapped up their outstanding trade obligations and added several new pieces for the 2025–26 campaign. Between Drevitch’s experience, Britt’s composure, and Burnie’s size, the Bears have built in flexibility and depth—key ingredients for a team that’s looking to take a step forward.
