ECHL Player of the Week: Worcester Railers Ashton Calder

With the Worcester Railers eying a Kelly Cup playoff spot, one Player has stood out among the others, and that is forward Ashton Calder, who took home the ECHL Player of the Week honors. In Calder’s latest performance on Sunday afternoon, he notched five goals and two assists for a total of seven points against the Maine Mariners. In three games, Calder finished the week with six goals and four assists for 10 points.

Ashton Calder is a quiet person, but he really understands the ins and outs of the game. His teammates love him and is somebody the team can rally around for a much needed spark. He has really come into his own over this hot streak the Worcester Railers are on.

Ashton Calder has put up impressive numbers through the 2023-2024 season. In 58 games played, he has 22 goals and 35 assists. He can put the puck in the back of the net and dish it out. He has six powerplay goals and two short-handed goals. With three games to play in the regular season, Calder looks to add to that and build on his Player of the Week honors.

During the Kelly Cup playoffs in 2023 with the Florida Everblades, Calder showed his value and what he will bring to Worcester come playoff time. In seventeen playoff games, he scored three goals, two of which were powerplay goals and three assists for a total of six points. Calder brings the heart every day to Worcester, and with the Player of the Week honors, The Railers are riding high.
