The Royals have made a future considerations trade with Fort Wayne this week to strengthen their defense. Mingo is no stranger to the ECHL with the start of his professional career with the Toledo Walleye in the 2015-16 season. Toledo was his first stop after spending his time in the NCAA playing five seasons with Bowling Green State University. In that starting season with the Walleye, he appeared in 29 games, racking in a total of three goals and two assists.

In the following season, Mingo would not return to the Walleye but instead to the Kalamazoo Wings. He spent the entirety of his first full professional season with the Wings, appearing in a total of 67 games and tallying up five goals and 15 assists. Once that season was over and the 2017-18 season began, Mingo would once again see a whole new city and team. He spent the entire season in with the Jacksonville Icemen where he would remain until the 2019-20 season. With Jacksonville, Mingo would appear in a total of 171 games and gaining a total of 23 goals and 68 assists before sitting out for the 2020-21 season.

In the following three seasons, Mingo played for the Cincinnati Cyclones, the Adirondack Thunder, and Fort Wayne before returning to the North Division with the Reading Royals. Mingo has spent his entire career in the ECHL, bringing with him talent and knowledge season after season to strengthen the Royals’ defensive core, which is crucial this late in the season.
