The Royals have a handful of transactions right before the end of the regular season. Six transactions were completed today, four of which involved the Royals’ AHL affiliate, Lehigh Valley. Forward Jacques Bouquot and forward Tyler Gratton have been returned to Reading from Lehigh Valley. The Philadelphia Flyers have reassigned defenseman Will Zmolek to Reading, and forward Matt Brown has been loaned from Lehigh Valley.

The Royals have lost two players today, with forward Chase Brand being released from his SPC and defenseman Tony Malinowski being suspended from the team. With these six transactions going into the weekend, the Royals hope to end the season at least with one last set of wins against the Orlando Solar Bears and play spoiler to an Orlando team that is still looking to clinch their spot in the Kelly Cup Playoffs. Fans can get excited to see a familiar face return to Reading this weekend as Brayden Low makes his return to face his former team, Low spent the 2019-20 season and 2021-22 season with Reading putting up 50 goals and 59 assists for 109 points in 187 games. The Royals have fought hard this season, but unfortunately for them, playoffs are out of the question, with fans hoping maybe next year will see a different outcome. This is the first time since the 2018-19 season that the Royals have missed the Kelly Cup Playoffs.
