Savannah welcomes back Defenseman Joe Fleming from Henderson Silver Knights. Fleming went to Henderson back on March 20th. Fleming spent that time practicing his skills and conditions with the AHL coaches, in a roster-filling position. Fleming has played 56 games with three goals, 15 assists, and 84 penalty minutes. Fleming Signed with the Vegas Golden Knights in 2022 and was assigned to the Savannah Ghost Pirates in 2023.
Savannah also took Griffin Loughran off of the Injured Reserve. Griffin signed a contract with the Ghost Pirates on March 13th and has played 131 NCAA collegiate-level games with 44 goals and 55 assists. Griffin is a 25-year-old right-handed forward from Orchard Park, New York.
Rookie Forward Nolan Welsh is placed on Reserve. Welsh had a huge week, debuting in his first professional game on Wednesday, March 20th, against the Florida Everblades. During the series, Welsh played great defense and showed off his skating skills. In the first period of the third game, Welsh took an unpenalized check from behind, causing him to leave the bench and not return.
Alex Swetlikoff was also injured during the Florida Everblades series. Florida’s Sean Josling and Swetlikoff started throwing haymakers during the first period of the series’ opening game. Swetlikoff continued the game until he was Hooked in the third period by Florida’s Joe Pendenza. Swetlikoff did not play the last two games of the series. His last game was March 20th. Swetlikoff has played games with eight goals and 13 assists.
Savannah meets the Greenville Swap Rabbits on March 28th, Greenville Swamp Rabbits are fourth in the league with 41-18-3-1, and Savannah Ghost Pirates are 25th with 25-32-5-1
