The Cincinnati Cyclones faceoff against the red-hot Kansas City Mavericks on Tuesday & Wednesday nights at 7:05 CT (8:05 ET). KC is on a seven-game winning streak and the Brabham Cup winner. The Mavericks are 1st in the ECHL with a record of 52-11-4 (110 points), as the Toledo Walleye (Central Division Champions) are nine points behind in 2nd place (101 points). The Mavericks are looking to perfect their game before the Kelly Cup Playoffs, where they plan to make a deep run. On the other hand, the Cyclones are not punching a ticket to the Kelly Cup Playoffs this year, but they recently bested the Kalamazoo Wings 3-2 on Friday in Cincinnati and 5-1 on Saturday in Kalamazoo.
The Cyclones seek to end the Mavericks win streak and build some momentum into the offseason after a long, disappointing season. They sit at 31-32-6 (68 points) and are in 6th place in the Central Division and will end their 2-year streak of reaching the Kelly Cup Playoffs. The Cyclones will have to limit turnovers against a high-powered offense of the Mavericks and hold Patrick Curry (Forward) back, who has 37 goals & 84 points on the season. The Mavericks are also the only team in ECHL history to have three goalies with 15 or more wins (Cale Morris-19 wins, Jack LaFontaine-16 wins, and Dillon Kelley-16 wins), which poses a challenge for the Cyclones. Cyclones and Mavericks fans can listen to the games for free at Cincinnati Cyclones (mixlr.com) and can watch with a Flo Sports- Flo Hockey subscription. For the Cyclones to be successful, they must play a complete game on both ends to stump the Mavericks, as they march towards the Kelly Cup Playoffs.
