On September 21st, Rumors began to swirl that a trade was made between the Toledo Walleye and the South Carolina Stingrays.
It was just confirmed that a trade has gone down between the clubs, The Stingrays have traded the rights to defenseman Matt Anderson in exchange for Cole Fraser.
Matt Anderson has spent his entire career in a Stingrays sweater, dressing in over 60 games for the organization. Before starting his professional career, the Shakopee, Minnesota native stayed in his home state to play for the University of Minnesota-Duluth. While he was with the Bulldogs, he played in 181 games and helped the team win back-to-back NCAA Championships.
Cole Fraser has previously spent time with the Stingrays for a brief period during the 2020-21season, where he saw action in 18 games and recorded two goals, two assists, and 70 PIMS. The 24-year-old Ottawa native has also spent time with the Allen Americans, Utah Grizzles, and the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL. During the 2022-23 season, he spent time with the Dundee Stars in the EIHL where he dressed in 17 games and registered three goals, one assist, and 59 PIMS.
