The ECHL Department of Players Safely has announced that Fort Wayne Komets forward Daniel Amesbury has been suspended for his actions in Friday’s game against the Cincinnati Cyclones. Amesbury earned his suspension for being the aggressor and throwing punches after the linesmen stepped in to try to break up the fight. This also led to a very heated argument between the two coaches.

This is the first time that Amesbury has been suspended by the ECHL; however, he’s been a repeat offender in the FPHL after racking up 298 penalty minutes in 27 games last season with the Danbury Hat Tricks. The 33-year-old forward has two goals in 9 games in the FPHL with the Hat Tricks, along with 72 minutes. He has yet to find the scoreboard in 11 games with the Komets while picking up 40 minutes in penalties.
