The Tahoe Knight Monsters ended their week with two signings in two days as they signed defenseman Jeff Solow yesterday, and today, they announced the signing of forward Logan Nelson for the 2024-25 season. Nelson, originally a fifth-round pick of the Buffalo Sabres in 2012, will be entering his 10th ECHL season as he began his ECHL career in 2014-15 with the Quad City Mallards and has since spent time with the Wichita Thunder, Rapid City Rush, Norfolk Admirals, Orlando Solar Bears, Fort Wayne Komets, Indy Fuel, and Atlanta Gladiators as he’s put up 139 goals and 223 assists for 372 points in 510 ECHL games, He’s added goals and seven assists for 15 points in 17 career Kelly Cup Playoff Games. This is a strong signing for the Knight Monsters as they add a veteran presence to their team and someone who has shown that he can produce offensively, as he put up 56 points in 58 games during the 2023-24 season with Rapid City. There is no doubt that a guy like Nelson should fit into the Knight Monster top six coming opening night.

Prior to going pro, the 30-year-old center spent three seasons in the WHL with the Victoria Royals, where he put up 60 goals and 99 assists for 159 points in 179 games. The Minnesota native would spend the 2020-21 season in the SPHL with the Birmingham Bulls, where he put up 13 goals and 36 assists for 49 points in 39 games and would lead the SPHL in assists (36) and points (49). Nelson becomes the ninth signing for the Knight Monsters this summer.
