ECHL Transactions: Savannah Ghost Pirates | 03/13/24

The Savannah Ghost Pirates Goalies are on the move.

I immediately thought of the All-Star goalie swarm when I said that aloud, but that’s not what I meant. It has been over a month since the Pirates had all three goalies at once. In February, we saw Jordan Papirny injured, and in March, we saw Jesper Vikman called to Henderson, then returned, leaving Michael Bullion to be the constant in our barn.

Today, Jordan Papirny was activated from the injured reserve, and Michael Bullion was added to the player reserve list.

Jordan Papirny, 27, left-hand dominant goalie; last game was February 9th, against the South Carolina Stingrays, where he completed 59 minutes of gameplay with a loss to South Carolina 7-4. Jordan has spent nine games in the AHL with the Henderson Silver Knights and ten in the ECHL with the Ghost Pirates. Jordan has an SAV% of 0.866 and a GAA of 3.73 with a 4-5-1 record.

With all the moving, the Pirates Jesper Vikman starts the series against the Atlanta Gladiators this week. Wednesday marks the tenth meeting of the teams.

Goaltenders weren’t the only change we saw today. We also saw Defensemen Tanner Vescio activated and Nolan Valleau placed on bereavement/family leave.

Tanner Vescio, a 25-year-old Right-handed Defenseman, has played 30 games under the Ghost Pirates and has three goals, two assists, five total points, 19 PIMS, and a +/minus of -13. In his last game, he had four shots on goal against the Greenville Swamp Rabbits on March 7th, where the Pirates suffered a 2-1 loss.
