Goaltender Julian Junca signed today with HK Dukla Michalovce of the Tipos Extraliga in Slovakia. The Tipos Extraliga is the highest-level ice hockey league in Slovakia. Junca is French and has played in various leagues in France before signing with the Tulsa Oilers in September 2023, his first season in North America. He played two games for the Chicago Wolves in the AHL and 37 games for the Oilers. As Tulsa’s number one goalie, Junca went 16-16-5 with a 0.901 save percentage. He played four games in the ECHL Playoffs, losing to the Kansas City Mavericks in a sweep; he had a 0.915 save percentage against Kansas City. His departure requires head coach Rob Murray to find someone to fill his shoes.
