ECHL: Trois-Rivieres Transactions | 03/14/2024

It was a busy day for the Trois-Rivieres Lions as they made a few transactions, all coming on the blueline, starting with the news that Markuss Komuls would be heading back to his home country of Latvia. Komuls originally signed with the Lions on March 22nd, 2023, after finishing his collegiate career at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks. The team suspended him in order to keep his ECHL rights. In 59 games with the Lions Komuls had two goals and eight assists for 10 points. Trois-Rivieres also announced that they have placed Miguel Tourigny on IR (Retroactive to 3/9). He suffered the injury last Friday vs Worcester Railers. Tourigny is one of the top defencemen for the Lions as he has eight goals and 27 assists for 35 points in 54 games this season; he leads all Lion blueliners in all offensive categories and is 9th among ECHL dmen in scoring.

The Lions also announced that they have signed defenceman Kennan MacIsaac to a contract for the remainder of the 2023-24 season. MacIsaac will be joining his second ECHL team this season after playing for the Fort Wayne Komets on March 3rd vs Indy Fuel after finishing up his collegiate career at the University of Ottawa, where he spent three years playing in 51 games, putting up a goal and three assists. This is a nice depth move for the Lions, who lost two defencemen today.
