ECHL: Tulsa Oilers Relatively Quiet on Trade Deadline 03|21|2024

The Tulsa Oilers added a player from the extremely busy Cincinnati Cyclones on the last day of trades in the ECHL. The Oilers received forward Shaun Miller for future considerations. Miller started this season with Dalhousie University before signing his first professional contract with the Cyclones on February 16. He played in 15 games and scored four assists. 

Tulsa also received forward Austin Albrecht from the Maine Mariners for future considerations. He played 44 games, recording six goals, 15 assists, and 78 penalty minutes.

Tulsa released forward Jimmy Lodge from his standard contract and defenseman Liam Markhauser from his amateur tryout. Lodge didn’t play in 2022 but signed with the Oilers in August 2023. He played in 27 games, scoring four goals and five assists. Markhauser signed his first professional contract on March 6. He recorded one assist in four games. 

Forward Shawn Kennedy signed his first professional contract with the Tulsa Oilers yesterday, and he played in their overtime loss against the Idaho Steelheads. Kennedy played the previous four seasons with Elmira College, scoring 45 goals and 54 assists in 88 games.

The Oilers continue their three-game series against the Idaho Steelheads on Friday at Idaho Central Arena. Puck drop is at 7:10 p.m.
