ECHL: Wichita Thunder Sign Dmitri Yushkevich

The Wichita Thunder announced that they’ve signed 26-year-old defenseman Dmitri Yushkevich, son of former Toronto Maple Leaf Dmitri Yushkevich Sr., for the upcoming ECHL season. This will be Yushkevich’s first year in the East Coast Hockey League. As of 2019-20, the defenseman played with Zvezda Moskva, Dynamo St. Petersburg, and Omskie Krylia in the VHL.

In 2019-20 with Zvezda, Yushkevich recorded two goals and six assists for eight points in 45 games. The following year, with the same team, he obtained two goals and two assists for four points in 44 games. In 2021-22, also with Zvezda, Dmitri put up a goal and four assists for five points in 31 games. The same season, with Dynamo St. Petersburg, Yushkevich secured five points in 15 games. With Omskie Krylia, in 25 games, he recorded a goal and zero assists for one point in 2022-23.

After 205 games played in the VHL, defenseman Dmitri Yushkevich put up a total of 37 points. It’ll be interesting to see him play for Wichita in the upcoming, 2023-24 season.
