ECHL: Worcester Railers Transactions | 03/20/2024

Calling all Worcester Railers fans, goaltender Henrik Tikkanen is coming back to the team from the Bridgeport Islanders of the American Hockey League due to a recall. Tikkanen has already played for the Worcester Railers this season. While he was not the starter, he played a total of 13 games for the team this year. He’s having a pretty average season with the team putting up a 6-5-1 season this year. Across those games, he allowed an average of 3.11 goals per game and a save percentage of 0.896. A positive to note is that he has won four of the last five starts he has had. To add to his talents, he has extreme height as he’s 6’8, giving him more of an opportunity as a shot-stopper. Tikkanen went 7-5-2 with a 2.17 GAA and .927SV%. The team would release goaltender Cole Ceci, who played in four games in the Railers, going 0-3 with a 3.11 GAA and .884 SV%; Ceci picked up his first career ECHL win as a member of the Atlanta Gladiators on December 29th when he stopped 34 of 37 shots in a 5-3 win.

Defenceman Christian Krygier was placed on IR retroactive to 3/16. Krygier has a goal and eight assists for nine points in 25 games with the Railers; he’s played two games in the AHL with Bridgeport.
