Alex Galchenyuk Career Update, Signs Two-Year Deal in the KHL

Alex Galchenyuk is almost two months removed from being terminated by the Arizona Coyotes. Galchenyuk, 29, signed as a free agent with the Arizona Coyotes and days later was terminated for an arrest in Arizona. A police report said that Galchenyuk was erratic and aggressive toward officers after crashing into a sign.

The incident led to Galchenyuk releasing both a statement and an apology for his actions. This also led to Galchenyuk entering the NHL/NHLPA Assistance Program.

Throughout Galchenyuk’s NHL career, he’s scored 146 goals and 208 assists for 354 points in 654 career NHL games. He’s signed seven contracts in the NHL and earned an estimated $24.5 million throughout his career. The Milwaukee, Wisconsin-born player has played through six of his seven contracts.

In Galchenyuk’s NHL career, he played the majority in the NHL with a couple of stints in the AHL. Galchenyuk’s two-year contract with SKA Saint Petersburg in the KHL is his debut in the league.
