Game Preview: Toronto Maple Leafs vs Anaheim Ducks | 01/03/2024

The Leafs played against the Kings last night and had what many would classify as their best game of the season. It was a late game, starting at 10:30pm EST, but one that Leafs fans who stayed up for are glad they stayed for. The Leafs are now on the second end of the back-to-back and will be playing against the Anaheim Ducks tonight. Note that lineup information has not been leaked, but we will go through some things to watch tonight below.

Leafs Latest Lineup

Three Things to Look Out For

Jones

Just minutes ago, it was confirmed that Jones would be getting the start tonight. Jones is a veteran and has played many back-to-backs in his career, and after a shutout last night will look to have a solid showing tonight. Many were hoping Hildeby would make his debut, but ultimately, it seems like the Leafs will be leaning on experience and getting Hildeby more reps in practice.

Nylander

Nylander has been on fire for the Leafs this season and became the first Leafs player to reach 50 points this season. Nylander is on pace for well over 100 points and will look to keep up the pace into the second half of the season. This is all while on the last year of his contract, and it appears that Nylander is working through a new contract with the Leafs. With that said, the focus is on hockey, and Nylander will look to be a key contributor once again tonight.

Bertuzzi

Another Leafs forward who has been playing well lately is Tyler Bertuzzi. Bertuzzi looked decent with the Leafs for most of this season, but the point production wasn’t following. It seems as if that’s changed now, as the points have starting to rack up for Bertuzzi. Bertuzzi will look to keep playing well and contributing both offensively and defensively for this Leafs team.

Tonight’s game starts at 9 p.m. EST on Sportsnet!
