Boston Bruins Notes:
The Bruins lost 3-2 to the Rangers on September 22 at TD Garden and defeated the Washington Capitals 4-2 on September 24. The Bruins’ goal scorers in the first meeting with New York were Cole Koepke and Trevor Kuntar. Boston’s younger prospects Fabian Lysell (goal) and Georgii Merkulov (assist) were factors in the win over Washington. Joonas Korpisalo had seven saves in the win in his Bruins’ debut.
New York Rangers Notes:
The Rangers followed their win over Boston with a 6-4 victory over the New York Islanders on September 24. Forward Chris Kreider and defenseman Zac Jones each posted two goals and an assist. New York scored five unanswered goals, four in a two-minute stretch, after falling behind 4-1 in the third period.

Bruins veterans David Pastrnak and Charlie McAvoy will see their first action of the preseason while defenseman Nikita Zadorov makes his Bruins debut. Newcomer Elias Lindholm is still nursing an undisclosed injury.
New York Rangers:
In the win over Boston, Victor Mancini and Filip Chytil led the way for the Blueshirts, each recording one goal and one assist. Dylan Garand and Louis Domingue split time in net for New York, each allowing one goal.
