Flo Hockey Game of The Week: Orlando Solar Bears versus Toledo Walleye

Friday at 7:15 pm

Location: Huntington Center

The Toledo Walleye remain a strong team, which is no different from the last few seasons. They have a current record of 9-3-1 and are first in the Western Conference, with a point percentage of .731 and 19 points, with the Fort Wayne Komets following closely behind at 18 points. Between the pipes, the Walleye have Jan Bednar (5-2-0) and Carter Gylander (4-1-1). Forward Brandon Hawkins leads the team in goals and assists, both equal at 10.

Let’s turn to the Orlando Solar Bears, who are playing on the Walleye’s turf for this game. They are currently in sixth place with a record of 5-8-1. Forward Tyler Bird leads the team with seven goals, and Forward Brayden Low leads assists with eight. Between the pipes, the Solar Bears have three netminders: Ryan Fanti (3-5-1), Michael Simpson (2-1-0), and Alexis Gravel (0-2-0).

Wheeling Nailers versus Fort Wayne Komets

Saturday Night at 7:35 pm EST

Location: Memorial Coliseum

The Wheeling Nailers continue to show why they are at the top of the North Division standings. They currently hold a record of 8-3-1-0 and are tied with Norfolk Admirals for 17 points with two fewer games in hand. Currently, between the pipes, the Nailers have Sergei Murashov (5-2-0-1) and Jaxon Castor (3-1-1-0). Forward Kyle Jackson leads the team with five goals, and Mathieu De. St Phalle leads with nine assists.

Fort Wayne Komets are nipping at the heels of the conference leader Toledo Walleye, with one less game in hand and a point percentage of .750 and 18 points. The Komets’ record is currently 9-3-0-0. The Komets have two netminders: Brett Bochu (6-1-0) and Connor Ungar (3-2-0-1). Forward Alex Aleardi leads the team with seven goals, and Defenseman Kyle Mayhew leads assists with 13.

Adirondack Thunder versus South Carolina Stingrays

Saturday Night at 6:05 pm EST and Sunday Afternoon at 3:05 PM EST

Location: North Charleston Coliseum

The South Carolina Stingrays have been on a tear this season and have the record to show for it. They currently hold a record of 9-2-1-0. They are currently one point and one game behind the Three-Time Kelly Cup Champion Florida Everblades. At the net, they have a netminding trio of Seth Eisele (4-0-1), Garin Bjorklund (3-1-0), and Mitchell Gibson (2-1-0). Grant Cruikshank, who recently earned a call-up to AHL affiliate Hershey Bears, is leading the team in goals with six. Forward Austin Magera and Defenseman Jayden Lee are leading the pack with 10 assists a piece.

Eastern Conference Champions Adirondack Thunder are currently sitting in fifth place with a record of 6-4-0-1. The Thunder are held up in the back end by Jeremy Brodeur, who has a current record of 4-2-0. The other netminder is Tyler Brennan, who has a record of 2-2-0-1. Forward Ryan Smith and Defenseman Ryan Conroy lead the pack with three goals a piece. Forward Kevin O’Neil takes charge with seven assists for the team lead. The Thunder are currently down south and desperately need to earn a win against the South Carolina Stingrays after three back-to-back losses against the Reading Royals, Jacksonville Icemen, and the Savannah Ghost Pirates.
